Todd Ackman

One of the biggest advantages of working with a firm like Rankin McKenzie is the flexibility to pull in exactly the right expertise as the business evolves, and Todd Ackman has been the ideal fit for precisely where we find ourselves as a dynamically evolving organization. He has been a truly outstanding fractional CFO. In a relatively short time, he’s overhauled our cap table, taken over the majority of our investor relations work, cleaned up our tax credits, and gotten a handle on grant receipts and billings, all with a level of precision and reliability that’s made a real difference to how our finance function runs. He’s also fit seamlessly into our team culture, and we couldn’t be happier with the partnership.

Working with Todd has been a game changer for us. He came in right as we were hitting a period of rapid growth, just before we made the Inc. 5000 list for the second time, and quickly took a number of things off my plate that had become real constraints. On the financial and compliance side, he handled bank loan negotiations, GAAP compliance, and cleaning up the state-by-state registrations we needed to get in order. He also navigated all the nuances of the F-reorganization we did right as he was joining, along with insurance negotiations and a lot of the other issues that come with scaling.

More than anything, Todd smoothed out and tightened up a lot of our operations at exactly the moment we needed it. His expertise and experience have been incredibly valuable as we’ve grown, and he removed a major constraint for me personally. I’d recommend him without hesitation.
