As a highly respected finance and operations executive, Martin Kelleher has spent over 30 years helping companies in Ireland, the UK, France, and the US drive their business performance and achieve transformational growth.  He has helped execute multiple acquisitions ranging from several billion dollars to low tens of millions including preparing an organization for an exit to a PE firm. As an experienced CFO/COO, he works with the senior team to identify the key company assets, the levers that need to be pulled, and builds the financial plan to maximize returns.

Mr. Kelleher has a special interest in the use of key performance indicators, dashboards, and developing an engaged culture of managing by metrics. His partnering approach with management teams allows companies to build on existing successes and position them for repeatable and profitable growth.

He has a wide range of industry experience ranging from Consumer Goods, Life Science, Telecoms, Software, Internet and Professional Services. Mr. Kelleher has worked with large public companies, venture backed startups and private companies. Over the course of his career to date, he has experience managing Finance, IT, Facilities, Legal, HR, Project Management, Sales & Marketing.

Over the last 15 years, Mr. Kelleher has primarily worked with Founder/CEO run companies where he has served as the Part-Time CFO/COO and Full-Time CFO/COO.

  • The Green Chair Project, a local non-profit bridging the gap for vulnerable Wake County families and providing them with vital housing resources

Originally from Ireland, Mr. Kelleher has a B.Com (Hons) degree from University College Cork, is a qualified accountant (FCMA, UK), and has an MBA from Duke University.

Career Timeline

  • Joined Rankin McKenzie as Partner in 2024.
  • 2022-2023: CFO of GENIXUS Corp, a prefilled injection company. Startup- first employee after founders. Managed HR, IT and Finance. Hired IT manager, HR Director and 2 Finance Directors. Implemented HR systems and NetSuite.
  • 2018-2021: PT CFO and then FT CAO & CFO of Kymanox Corp- a Professional Services focused on Life Science. Managed Finance, HR, Sales, PM and IT. Helped grow Revenues (3x) and sold to Private equity firm.
  • 2015-2018: Contract CFO and then FT CFO/COO of Brooks Bell, a privately owned Data Analytics firm.
  • 2014-2015: Contract GM for a digital startup.
  • 2008-2014: Contract CFO and then FT CFO for multiple Companies including SonicBids (venture backed), DiningIn (acquired by GrubHub) and Contract CFO for several other startups.
  • 2004-2007: VP Finance & CFO at Monster.com, NA- $750M Revenues, public company. Was finance lead for 4 acquisitions.
  • 1990-2004: Director Finance, Nortel Networks in UK, France, and US.
  • 1987-1990: Management Accountant Bristol-Myers Squibb, UK.
  • 1985-1987: Financial Analyst with Procter & Gamble, UK.
