Terms and Conditions for the “Rankin McKenzie Adopt a Pet” Contest

  1. Eligibility: This contest is open to individuals who are legal residents of North Carolina, USA. Participants must be of legal age to adopt a pet from the SPCA of Wake County.

  2. Contest Period: The contest begins on January 1, 2024, and ends on December 31, 2024. Entries submitted outside of this period will not be eligible.

  3. How to Enter:
    Adopt a dog or a cat from the SPCA of Wake County during the contest period.
    Name the adopted animal "McKenzie".
    Email Kristi at [email protected] prior to finalizing the adoption to register for the contest. In your email, include details of the adoption and your contact information.
    Agree to provide Rankin McKenzie with photographs of the adopted pet.

  4. Limitations:

    • Limit of one animal per participant.
    • The contest is limited to the first two successful adoptions that complete the process as per these terms and conditions.
  5. Donation/Adoption Fee Coverage:

    • Upon successful verification, Rankin McKenzie will donate $500 in the participant's honor to the Wake SPCA or cover the adoption fee, subject to the participant's choice.
    • The donation or fee coverage is non-transferable and no cash or other alternatives will be offered.
  6. Use of Images: By entering this contest, participants agree to supply Rankin McKenzie with pictures of the adopted dog or cat. These images may be used in Rankin McKenzie's marketing materials without any form of compensation. Participants grant Rankin McKenzie a perpetual, royalty-free license to use these images.

  7. General Conditions: Rankin McKenzie reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify the contest if any fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond Rankin McKenzie’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the contest, as determined by Rankin McKenzie in its sole discretion.

  8. Liability Release: By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Rankin McKenzie and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective parent companies and each such company’s officers, directors, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.

  9. Disputes: Except where prohibited, participants agree that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively under the laws of the State of North Carolina.

  10. Privacy: Information collected from entrants is subject to Rankin McKenzie’s privacy policy.

  11. Governing Law: This contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations of North Carolina and is void where prohibited by law.
